From a flat image to moving layers
The reference images were the starting point. The interactive version uses generated transparent layers so the sun and dunes can move independently.
The foreground moves farther than the distant dunes. Light and shadow overlays follow the sun, and the scene changes with the site theme. Reduced-motion settings turn off pointer movement.
